David B. Pillemer
David B. Pillemer is the Dr. Samuel E. Paul Professor of Developmental Psychology at the University of New Hampshire. Previously he was a professor of psychology at Wellesley College, where he served as faculty director of the Pforzheimer Learning & Teaching Center and psychological director of the Wellesley College Child Study Center.
David’s research specialty is autobiographical memory across the life span. He has studied memory development in children, memory and self-esteem, “flashbulb” memories of momentous events, memories of educational experiences, and gender and cultural differences in memory performance. He is the author or editor of several books, including Momentous Events, Vivid Memories and Summing Up: The Science of Reviewing Research, both published by Harvard University Press, and Developmental Psychology and Social Change, published by Cambridge University Press.
