The National Rural Assembly
and the Rural Compact
The National Rural Assembly is a new movement devoted to building a stronger, more vibrant rural America. To launch their work, this new organization has issued the Rural Compact, a statement of principles calling for positive changes for rural America that will benefit all of us and is seeking endorsements for these principles from people and organizations across the nation. As part of the Carsey Institute's work to support policies in rural America, the Institute has been involved with the Assembly since it's inception in June 2007. As a supporter of the Rural Compact, we encourage others to endorse its principles. Please visit the National Rural Assembly and sign the Rural Compact.
